This 5-minute short film will be released on AbandonFilms.com in three weeks. You can follow the post-production process on our Twitter and Facebook pages.

To all our readers, clients, family and friends, we hope you have a wonderful time with loved ones and a very merry Christmas!

We also wanted to let you know that we will be posting a very important public service announcement on January 1, 2013. It is a video that was put together by our intern Ryan Brown, and it contains a message that is important for all of us to hear.
Until then, have a wonderful holiday season!

The casting call for the short form narrative film A True Friend is now open. We are accepting self-taped, virtual auditions submitted through YouTube. Auditions will be open until 11:59 P.M. on Monday, December 3. We are casting 5 male roles.
These roles pay $50 a day. We also will need around 10 volunteer extras for a night scene, both male and female, age 20 to 40. For this, no YouTube submissions are necessary. For consideration, please send your head shot to info@abandonfilms.com.

Here’s something you might not know about Abandon Films.
We started our company during a recession. We moved in with each other and worked out of a basement for three years. We worked on projects that got us nowhere but back where we started. We made a lot of mistakes (cue the Sufjan Stevens song… “I don’t mind, I don’t mind.”).
We really don’t mind. Because living with abandon is the only way to live. If you never risk anything, you never learn anything. That is why we are called Abandon Films. Because we believe it.
Today we are launching our new website and announcing the production of a new short film.
More than that, we are committing to publishing weekly blog content and producing a lineup of short films throughout the winter and spring.
Legacy of the Mountain is now available in Special Edition BluRay plus DVD. It includes the original documentary, plus deleted scenes, commentaries, and two original featurettes. Get it here.
Abandon Films is now casting for a series of TV ads for Member One Federal Credit Union.

WE ARE SEEKING THE FOLLOWING SPEAKING ROLES:
Abandon Films is casting for The Laptop Conspiracy, a short film written and directed by Justin Snyder, and starring Kevin Spacey and Kim Basinger. No just kidding. The film will be used as a case study for Producing a Great Short Film, a tutorial series directed by Adam Everett Miller. This special series is funded by Envato and will be featured on the Tuts Network at the end of this year.
